Advancing 1L mUC treatment outcomes: Interactive, case-led discussions across patient subgroups
Module 1 will explore data from the KEYNOTE-A39 clinical trial where KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab) + enfortumab vedotin▼ was evaluated as a combination treatment in patients with unresectable or metastatic bladder cancer. The focus of this module is on patient subgroups of clinical interest, and you will have the opportunity to select the patient subgroups and accompanying case studies most relevant to your clinical practice:
- Elderly patients
- Patients with diabetes
- Patients with impaired renal function
Learning Objectives:
- Review the KN‑A39/EV‑302 study design and key outcomes at initial analysis and 1‑year additional follow‑up, including OS, PFS, ORR and the safety profile in the intention‑to‑treat population.
- Explore outcomes and discuss potential clinical implications in cisplatin-eligible and ineligible cohorts, and across clinically relevant subgroups (e.g., elderly, diabetes, impaired renal function).
- Apply data to real-world decision making through a choice of interactive case studies that align to the needs of your centre.
- Discuss evidence-based best practice with your expert speaker to help inform effective treatment strategies for your mUC patients.

Professor Simon Crabb

Biography
Simon Crabb is a Professor of Experimental Cancer Therapeutics at the University of Southampton and an Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology at University Hospital Southampton. His research interests focus on developing novel cancer treatment strategies, including precision medicine approaches for bladder and prostate cancer. Simon is the Associate Clinical Director of the Cancer Research UK Southampton Clinical Trials Unit and Clinical Programme Lead for Southampton Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre. Other roles have included membership of the NCRI Prostate Group and Bladder and Renal Group, Trustee positions for the British Uro-oncology Group and Prostate Cancer Research, participation on grant funding committees for Prostate Cancer UK and Cancer Research UK and Associate Editor for the British Journal of Cancer.
Professor Robert Huddart

Biography
Professor Robert Huddart is Professor of Urological Cancer at the Institute of Cancer Research, London, and an Honorary Consultant in Clinical Oncology at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. He is an internationally recognised expert in bladder cancer, with a research focus on improving outcomes through optimised radiotherapy and bladder-preserving treatment strategies.
He has led major clinical trials, including the landmark BC2001 study, which established the benefit of combining chemotherapy with radiotherapy for muscle-invasive bladder cancer and has influenced international treatment guidelines. His work centres on advancing precision radiotherapy techniques, including intensity-modulated and image-guided radiotherapy, to enhance tumour control while minimising toxicity.
Professor Huddart has played a key role in national research leadership through the National Cancer Research Institute and has contributed to guideline development with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. He has published extensively and is widely regarded as a leader in bladder cancer research and care.
Detect early, respond effectively: peer-to-peer learnings to support adverse event identification and treatment continuity in 1L mUC
Module 2 will explore data from KEYNOTE-A39, with a focus on early recognition of AEs to support treatment continuity. You will have the opportunity to select the AEs most relevant to your clinical practice:
- Skin reactions
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Hyperglycaemia
- Gastrointestinal events
- Fatigue
- Pneumonitis
- Ocular disorders
Learning Objectives:
- Summarise the KN-A39 /EV-302 regimen’s data and safety profile, including common and treatment-related adverse events and time-to-onset of reactions.
- Strengthen early recognition and management of adverse events through case- based discussions, chosen by you and led by the expert speaker.
- Support treatment continuity by improving understanding of monitoring, escalation pathways and multidisciplinary communication.
- Discuss evidence-based best practice with your expert speaker to help inform effective treatment strategies for your mUC patients.

Biography
Dr Samantha Strumeier is a GU Nurse Consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust and Chair of the Uro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Team across five sites, bringing over a decade of advanced oncology experience from her work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s in Business, and an advanced practice degree earned in New York. A published and oncology-certified clinician, she is dedicated to evidence-based practice, collaborative cancer care, and helping patients navigate their treatment with compassion and expertise.
Dr Robert Stevenson
Consultant Clinical Oncologist
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
Biography
Dr Rob Stevenson graduated from Leicester-Warwick medical school in 2005 and qualified as a Consultant oncologist in 2014; gaining his post in December 2014 at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB). Dr Stevenson manages patients with thoracic and urological malignancies (bladder, renal, prostate and penile). He is experienced in the management of patients with immunotherapy, cytotoxic chemotherapy, hormonal therapies, targeted therapies and antibody drug conjugates. He also has extensive experience in advanced radiotherapy techniques such as stereotactic radiotherapy for early-stage lung tumours and oligometastatic disease. He is currently the lung cancer lead for UHB and has previous been the radiotherapy lead for UHB and the West Midlands.
Dr Stevenson is actively involved in research, being the Principle Investigator for a number of National Clinical trials, and having numerous peer reviewed publications.
Kate O’Connor
Advanced Nurse Practitioner
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust
Biography
Kate O’Connor is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, one of Europe’s leading cancer centres. She is the systemic anti-cancer therapy lead for Urology and team leader of the Uro-Oncology Advanced Practitioner team, delivering expert clinical care to patients with urothelial and prostate cancers. Mrs O’Connor holds a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice and has completed formal Advanced Clinical Practitioner training, equipping her to work autonomously across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Mrs O’Connor’s research interests include service development, clinical audit and evidence-based practice in within the urology team.
