Dr Lyn Smith

Dr Lyn Smith is a Consultant Gastroenterologist working in Glasgow Royal Infirmary in the West of Scotland.

Her subspecialty interests are luminal disease, pancreatology and gastrointestinal neuroendocrine disease.  She runs the West of Scotland pancreatic mucinous cyst service and provides the gastroenterology input to both the West of Scotland Pancreaticobiliary and West of Scotland Neuroendocrine Multidisciplinary Team Meetings.

She is currently actively involved in clinical research in the fields of pancreatology and inflammatory bowel disease.

Born and bred in Glasgow. University of Glasgow 1988-1995.

BSc (Hons) Pharmacology 1992,  MBChB (Com) 1995.

House Jobs and SHO rotation around Glasgow then escaped to the North for Specialist Registrar training in Inverness and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary 2000-2005.

Consultant Southern General Hospital – Rheumatology and General Medicine June 2005 onwards, now based in the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow.

South Sector Lead for Rheumatology.

Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer University of Glasgow

Interests: Sero-negative and Spondylo-arthritis. Crystal arthritis.
