A decade of Lynparza in the UK: enhancing advanced ovarian cancer care and addressing persistent unmet patient needs2-5
Watch the video below to discover what Lynparza overall survival data could mean for patients with advanced ovarian cancer – giving more time for life’s planned and unplanned moments.
Overall Survival in the HRD-positive subgroup is based on an exploratory subgroup analysis
There remains a critical unmet need in advanced ovarian cancer survival and recurrence outcomes4,5
With aOC patients demonstrating decreasing treatment-free interval time over subsequent lines of therapy, the 1L maintenance treatment period is critical to give them a chance for long-term remission by following the ESMO recommended targeted approach to treatment selection6-8
Long-term remission and delay of disease progression are key for patients with aOC. Without maintenance therapy, aOC patients demonstrate decreasing treatment-free interval over subsequent lines of therapy:2,6-8
*From a retrospective analysis of 461 patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer diagnosed between 1996 and 2009 that used secondary data from multiple centres participating in the Cancer Genome Atlas study.
For targeted treatments such as Lynparza, HRD status has been shown to be a pivotal biomarker to guide treatment selection in the 1L maintenance setting9
Nearly half of all patients with aOC are HRD-positive (incl. BRCAm) and could be eligible for a Lynparza regimen in the 1L maintenance setting, with or without bevacizumab, depending on BRCA status1,2,8,10*
*Some patients may be ineligible for Lynparza or bevacizumab treatments due to contraindications or comorbidities. Please refer to the Summaries of Product Characteristics for full safety and prescribing information.1
Lynparza tablets therapeutic indications1
Lynparza tablets are indicated as monotherapy for:
- The maintenance treatment of adult patients with advanced (FIGO stages III and IV) BRCA1/2-mutated (germline and/or somatic) high-grade epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer who are in response (complete or partial) following completion of first-line platinum-based chemotherapy.
- The maintenance treatment of adult patients with platinum-sensitive relapsed high-grade epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer who are in response (complete or partial) to platinum-based chemotherapy.
Lynparza in combination with bevacizumab is indicated for:
- The maintenance treatment of adult patients with advanced (FIGO stages III and IV) high-grade epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer who are in response (complete or partial) following completion of first-line platinum-based chemotherapy in combination with bevacizumab and whose cancer is associated with homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) positive status defined by either a BRCA1/2 mutation and/or genomic instability.
Please consult the SmPC for further information before making any prescribing decisions.
